Grandeur Simplicity

I'm Shelby. A 21 year old event planning major from Rhode Island. I’ve been blogging and vlogging off and on since 2007. I’m a pretty simple person but I’m loud and I’m proud of my quirks. So I’ve always kind of lived my motto. The simplest things in life are the grandest.

Colour Riche Balm in Caring Coral

When looking in the usual favorite aisle, I spotted a product that looks very similar to the Revlon Lipbutters. So of course I had to pick up a L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm and see what it’s like.

My first impression of this product is that I love the packaging. It’s a little more elegant than the similar Revlon product. It has a gold base with a small piece coming up and a sheer colored case. The top is slanted down like the tube itself and I quite like it. Because of the bit of gold that goes in front though, you can’t put it on any way you want. Which is inconvenient in a rush.

I was looking at a couple of colors but decided on Caring Coral. There were only a few to choose from and this was my favorite. The color is sheer but it still shows. You can tell the difference between my lips with and without it but it is not opaque at all. I think it’s nice for a subtle hint. This particular color is a little close to my lip color so it’s pretty much a my lips but better color. I quite like it.

Now for a comparison. Obviously these are very different colors. The packaging is very similar though. Revlon’s is wider and shorter as well as having a clear part on top. Other than that and the previous descriptions, the packaging are the same. The products are very different though. Revlon’s feel more like lip balm and is much more opaque. L’Oreal’s is more sheer and has a more slippery texture. It is still very moisturizing and has the bonus of SPF 15 but there are some major differences. In the long run I like Revlon’s more but they are both very good products that I will keep using.
